Adventure Caving In New Zealand

When people go to New Zealand, one of the things that can not wait to nature and the landscape. Something you might not see so many holiday brochures, but an experience that should definitely enjoy it if you get the chance, is exploring underground caves in New Zealand. Take a trip underground into the depths of the country to see through some of these popular networks of caves.

Waitomo Caves

It is situated in Waikato on the North Island Waitomo Caves center are some of the more accessible New Zealand. More than 400 caves in the network, offering a range of experiences and unique samples of nature at work. While families and children happy watching Firefly screens and limestone formations, the real excitement comes from abseiling, rock climbing and whitewater black underground through some of the Waitomo caves expanded.

North Westland

Honeycomb Cave Hill in Westland Karamea more than 13 km travel through the earth with a few dozen entries and limestone arches nation's largest. A large number of moa bones have been discovered in the caves and, Honeycomb Hill national interest to learn more about the native flora of New Zealand to discover.

You will find the caves near Karamea in the north west coast of the South Island.

Northwest Nelson

Nelson has three different alpine caves to almost 1700 meters above sea level. Mt Arthur, Mt Takaka Hill and Owen are three of the deepest caves and throughout New Zealand.

Cave Mt Arthur, Nettlebed, is the deepest explored in the country to 889 meters, while Bulmer Cavern on Mt Owen is the longest in 33.9kms. The Ellis Basin system in Takaka Hill is still an incredible 28kms long and was first explored by cavers New Zealand in the 1960s.
