Most people travel for their holidays and they usually take their families with them. There are people who just can not live without their pets. If you plan to travel with your pet you need to plan ahead to make the trip as comfortable and enjoyable for both you and the animal.

· Travel by car

If you are on a road trip for the holidays, make sure you do not let your pet loose in your vehicle. Always put your pet in the backseat.

· On the plane

If you are traveling to your destination, a pet carrier is a must to meet airline regulations. Please contact the airlines about the size of pet carriers to ensure that you purchase the correct size. An animal can travel by air in the cabin if not exceed 22 pounds in weight, 18 inches in length and 11 cm high.

For international travel, you will need some documents for your pet before you can take. Do not travel with your pet if you have checked and vaccinated by a veterinarian. Keep your pet's current health with a record of vaccinations.

· Pet Foods

Take enough food for pets, you can never be sure if your brand of pet food available at your destination, it is better to be safe.

· Feeding

If you fly, feed your pet with a light snack 5-6 hours before departure. Do not give your pet a fluid two hours before departure. If you travel by car, do not try to feed your pet when traveling.

· Place ID Tags

If you take your pet to travel or international, it is best if you can attach an identification tag on your pet. The identification label should include home address and telephone number and the address and telephone number of your destination.

If you are visiting family, you must let them know that you are bringing your pet. If you are staying in a hotel, check the rules and regulations regarding housing pets.
